Most recently I was the Creative Director for the Oakland A’s. As the organizations creative lead I developed creative process and an in-house agency model. I was responsible for hiring, developing and motivating a team of creatives as well as overseeing the teams brand vision across all platforms and executions.

I started my own creative agency where I was a swiss-army knife, playing many different roles for many different brands. I was a Strategic Consultant, Designer, Creative Director and Marketer. I worked with clients to introduce new products, overhaul creative process, recruit talent and build teams, innovate products, rebrand, develop brand voice, advertise, B2B sales pitch, campaign creation, web design, etc.

When I began at the 49ers in 2011, I was the only graphic designer on staff, partnering with advertising agencies to develop the iconic brand. By the time I left the 49ers, we became a best in class in-house agency, developing award winning creative and marketing executions for the 49ers as well as the development and launch of the Levi’s Stadium brand.

Brand Direction.

This document is delivered across the organization to communicate brand ideals and focus for the short-term future. From leadership to interns, this document sets to tone for the brand and everyone who impacts the organization. We begin with brainstorming and research, then interview all major stakeholders and weave in organizational goals.

This process is unique to the Oakland A’s and the structure of the marketing team. Having clear process and boundaries allows creatives to thrive in an environment built for speed, creativity as well as consistency and transparency. Ideal for a fast paced and ever evolving environment built for collaboration and innovation.

Style Guide.

The style guide is delivered as a toolkit, assets and loose guidelines along with examples to build campaign creative. Training and Q & A sessions help hone in on the process. Sharing executions and providing feedback as different expressions of the campaign get executed help inspire new ways to use the style guide.
